
‘Using non-accredited learning in the ILS curriculum’

Venue: Metropole Hotel in Llandrindod Wells.
Aim of the event: To inspire the sector in improving the curriculum for ILS learners – in response to Estyn recommendations and in the context of ALN transformation
Objectives: By the end of the day participants will have the opportunity to:
- Understand the background to the current move to using non- accredited learning in the ILS curriculum
- Update current knowledge of ALN Transformation in Wales - understand how non-accredited learning fits into the context of ALN transformation and person-centred practice
- Explore the key factors in successfully delivering non-accredited learning, whilst maintaining quality and rigour in the curriculum
- Hear how others have gone about it and learn from Creative Solutions pilot projects in using non-accredited learning – Coleg Cambria, Grwp Llandrillo Menai and Coleg Elidyr
- Work collaboratively to share effective practice and resources and to develop practitioner networks
Target audience: Managers and practitioners working in the Independent Living Skills programme area in FE Colleges in Wales
Event limited to 5 – 8 members of staff per FE College
