As part of the European Skills Week between 5-9 November, delegates from ColegauCymru and Coleg y Cymoedd are attending the EQAVET Forum to discuss the Learner Voice as part of Quality Assurance practices.
The Annual Forum is an opportunity for information exchange and to experience open discussions around the learner voice ensuring quality practices and teaching across Europe. EQAVET, through its programme of activities and structures, operates in a collaborative mode to create a sustainable platform or community of practice for quality assurance in VET (Vocational Education and Training).
Representing Wales and presenting at the event are two HNC Engineering learners from Coleg y Cymoedd, along with their ESW tutor, Michelle Simmonds and our ColegauCymru consultant Phil Whitney. Their presentation will focus on the learner voice in a work based learning context (WBL). Jordon Lawrence is employed by Al-met and Jacob Morrissey works for Axiom.
Michelle Simmonds said ”This is an ideal opportunity for Coleg y Cymoedd to represent the Welsh WBL learner persepective overseas, allowing Jordon and Jacob an opportunity to talk about their experience of quality assurance in their vocational field. This will enable our learners to gain an insight into different cultures, increasing global awareness and opportunities to expand their personal and professional development. We are grateful to EQAVET for this opportunity”.
